Sen. Godswill Akpabio has described as false reports that he was arrested yesterday evening.
Information Edge reported on Friday that the ex-governor was picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in connection with his frauds allegedly committed while in office.
But Akpabio said via Twitter posts that he only visited the commission for some explanations.
The senator said he honoured the invitation as a law-abiding citizen.
The EFCC has not issued an official statement on the invitation. But unofficial sources said the ex-governor has been placed under watch by the commission.
